Green Mountain Fence was founded in 1951 by Howard Conley. Starting from a one man operation, he built it into the towns major employer. Green Mountain Fence is one of the oldest fence companies in New England. Howard, ready to retire, sold the business in 1994. Bruce Conley, Howards son, purchased the business in 1998. He and his wife Janice had been running Conley Custom Sawing in Barton ,VT. The two businesses were then combined, making Green Mountain Fence stronger then ever. In March of 2007, Brian Conley, Bruce's son, became the proud owner, with his wife Crystal. Due to health issues, Bruce decided it was time to sell. Growing up in the family business, Brian had always admired his late grandfathers business skills. Working along side his father, Bruce Conley, when he was a small boy, he learned many tricks of the trade. Having such great influences in his life has resulted in some added pressure and some big boots to fill. Diversifying into log cabin railings and cedar log beds, has made surviving in these hard times possible. Our best seller is still and always will be our Northern White cedar fence. We offer stockade, space picket, split rail, post & rails, T&G, and also custom fences. All of our cedar is purchased locally from our hard working loggers and then manufactured into our products from our impeccable team of employees. Our quality sets us apart from our competition.
